About

Built for the professions with the most to lose.

Alacrix is an AI governance and implementation consultancy working with UK mid-tier accountancy practices and midsize law firms. We deliver governance and implementation together, because separating them is what creates the evidence gap.

Mission

Make AI adoption safe enough for the professions that carry the most regulatory and reputational risk when it goes wrong.

Vision

To become the default AI governance and implementation partner for UK mid-tier accountancy and law firms - the bridge between an AI pilot and something that survives an audit.

Why Alacrix exists

The two halves were never joined.

Professional firms adopted AI the way most organisations did: quickly, in pockets, and ahead of the operating model. The advice available split along an old line. Compliance consultants produced policies. Automation specialists produced systems. Neither owned the join.

That join is where the exposure sits. A policy cannot show what a model did on a client file. A working automation cannot show who reviewed its output or why the outcome was accepted. Firms in regulated professions are eventually asked for exactly that record - by a regulator, an insurer, or a client running due diligence.

Alacrix was set up to work in that space: designing the control environment and building the workflow as one piece of work, so what gets built is operationally useful and provably safe.

Positioning

AI that stands up to scrutiny.

Framing

Governance × Implementation.

Promise

We make AI operational, governed and defensible.

Operating principles

How we work.

These are the commitments that shape scope, findings and delivery on every engagement.

We start from observed practice

Every engagement begins with what is actually happening in the firm, because governance built on assumed behaviour fails at the first exception.

We write for partners

Findings and frameworks are written to be read by people accountable for the firm, not by a technical audience or a compliance archive.

We build what we specify

If we recommend a control, we are prepared to implement it. Recommendations that nobody can operationalise are not advice.

We keep the control set small

Complexity is a risk in itself. We aim for the smallest set of controls that makes a use case defensible and durable.

We name residual risk

Some exposure will be accepted rather than eliminated. It should be recorded as an accepted decision with an owner.

We hand over ownership

The framework, records and runbooks belong to the firm. Dependence on an adviser is not a governance outcome.

Start with a clear view of where you stand.

An AI Risk & Readiness Audit is a short, low-friction way to establish current use, current controls and the work required to be defensible.
